Day 1 – Arrival – Delhi:

After clearing Customs and Immigration, step into the receiving area, where our representative will meet you and escort you to the hotel. Through the centuries, eight cities have been built on this site, by the Hindus, the Mughals and the British, each adding their own flavour. In a matter of minutes you can be transported from a sprawling, elegant garden city to the ancient twisting alleyways of Old Delhi.

Day 2 – Delhi:

After breakfast, depart for sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi.  On the tour of “Old Delhi,” you will head out to explore this exotic locale with its narrow dirt roads, myriads of people and inexpensive and colourful bazaars that keep alive the traditional workmanship for which Delhi has always been famous. Drive past the Red Fort and take a bicycle rickshaw ride, which will take you into the heart of Chandani Chowk (the silver square – so named because of the silver merchants). Negotiating alleyways, which seemingly get narrower and narrower and end up at Jama Masjid, the largest Muslim mosque in India.

Later drive to the outskirts of New Delhi to explore the Qutub Minar, on the way our guide will point out the Raj-era architecture in the city centre, including the renowned India Gate and Edwin Landseer Lutyens’ and Herbert Baker’s monumental governmental building on Raisina Hill.

Qutub Minar is a victory minaret built by the first invading Persian, Qutub-ud-din, a millennium ago in South Delhi. One of Delhi’s most visited and striking monuments, the 72-meter (230 feet) high tower majestically watches over the wide plains of Delhi.

Wrap up the day with the visit to UNESCO World Heritage site, Humayun’s Tomb which was built in the mid-16th century, 9 years after his death. It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent. It was also the first structure to use red sandstone on such a scale.

Day 3 – Delhi to Jaipur by road: Approx. 265 Kms. / 165 Mi. / 6 Hrs.

Morning have breakfast at hotel. Later check out and drive to Jaipur. On arrival, check in to the hotel.  Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan, is popularly known as “The Pink City” for the colour of the buildings in its wonderful old city. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Evening is free at leisure.

Day 4 – Jaipur:

Morning have breakfast at hotel. Later start a full day sightseeing tour of Jaipur including a visit to the Amber Fort and a photo stop at the Palace of the Winds, the Hawa Mahal in the morning.

A visit to the City Palace in the afternoon, which now houses the royal residence and museums with a fine collection of textiles and costumes, armoury, manuscripts and paintings, followed by a stopover at Jantar Mantar, wraps up the day. Explore the local markets or visit a jeweller’s workshop as Jaipur is most famous for its gems.

Evening is free to explore the local markets your own.

Day 5 – Jaipur to Ranthambore by road: Approx. 200 Kms. / 124 Mi. / 4 Hrs.

Morning have breakfast at hotel. Later check out at hotel and drive to Ranthambore. Ranthambore National Park is one of the biggest and most renowned national parks in Northern India. The park is located in the Sawai Madhopur district of south-eastern Rajasthan and is famous for its Tigers. On arrival in Ranthambore, check into your hotel.

Later visit DHONK. Dhonk is a responsible enterprise making handicrafts in and around Ranthambore. It aims to provide a sustainable livelihood to people living near Ranthambore.

Day 6 – Ranthambore:

Enjoy morning game drive (shared Jeep safari) in the Ranthambore national park. Later return back to your hotel for breakfast and wash & change. Post lunch start another jeep safari to national park. Return back to your hotel by evening.

Day 7 – Ranthambore to Gadoli by road: Approx. 168 Kms. / 105 Mi. / 4 Hrs.

After a leisurely breakfast, leave for your next destination – Gadoli.  The Clement Village Retreat is located in a beautiful, serene valley of the Aravali Ranges. A visit here gives us an opportunity to engage with local communities, experience the authentic Rajasthani culture. On arrival you will be greeted at the Clement Village Retreat.

Day 8 – Gadoli:

After breakfast, camel safari will take you to a nearby village where the colourful Meena tribes reside. Meet the villagers and learn about the rural Indian life. Later, in the afternoon enjoy hiking to the nearby hills.

The Abhaneri Stepwells (also known as Chand Baori) is another experience that is a must see. This architecturally impressive structure is over 1000 years old. BBC Travel has called it one of the 7 Unknown Architectural Wonders in the World.

There is also a temple adjoining the stepwell for visitors to explore.

Day 9 – Gadoli – Bharatpur – Agra by road: 170 Kms. / 106 Mi. / 4 Hrs.

After breakfast, proceed to Agra, stopping at Bharatpur en-route for a visit and lunch at the local restaurant. Bharatpur, India is a famous  avifauna sanctuary that hosts thousands of birds, especially during the winter season. Over 230 species of birds are known to be resident. It is also a major tourist center with scores of  ornithologists arriving here in the hibernal season. It was declared a protected sanctuary in 1971. It is also a world heritage site

Arrive Agra and check-in to your hotel. Rest of the day is free.

Day 10 – Agra:

Morning have breakfast at hotel. Later visit the Taj Mahal (closed on Friday), the greatest monument to love and one of the wonders of the modern world. Completed in 1652, skilled craftsmen from Persia, Turkey, France and Italy and some 20,000 labourers worked for 17 years to build this edifice, constructed by Emperor Shah Jahan as a mausoleum for his beloved queen Mumtaz Mahal.

Afternoon visit the red sandstone Agra Fort, which stands like a crescent on the banks of the Yamuna River enclosed by forbidding 20-meter high walls, with a 12-meter moat between them. Three successive Mughal emperors – Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jehan – helped create this massive structure which contains Hindu and Muslim architecture. Evening is free at leisure.

Day 11 – Agra – Delhi – Departure:

After breakfast, the morning is free. Room/s will be available for use till 12 Noon. In time check-out and leave for Delhi International airport to board your onward flight.

Day 11 – Agra – Jhansi by train: Bhopal Shatabdi:

Morning transfer to railway station to board train to Jhansi. On arrival in Jhansi you will be met and assisted by representative at railway station. Thereafter, drive to Khajuraho and en route stop at Orchha. Reach Orchha, where you will visit the Ram Raja Temple and the Laxmi Narayan Temple.

After the visiting Orchha, drive to Khajuraho. Famous for its sensual sculptures, this UNESCO World Heritage Site contains one of the best examples of temple architecture in India. Khajuraho’s temples were built by the Chandela dynasty, who ruled over central India between 950-1050 AD. Out of the 85 original temples, only 20 survive today. On arrival in Khajuraho, check in to your hotel. Evening is free at leisure.

Day 12 – Khajuraho:

Khajuraho contains both Hindu and Jain temples, which are divided into the Western and Eastern complexes. It’s best to begin from the Western complex since the largest and best-decorated temples are found in the Western complex. The Kandariya Mahadev is a Shiva temple with an exquisite entrance, and a large number of carvings of Hindu gods as well as lovers. The Chitragupta temple has an impressive seven foot image of the sun god Surya drawing a chariot pulled by seven horses. The unique Chausath Yogini temple originally consisted of 64 small shrines dedicated to ‘yoginis’ or female spiritual leaders, of which only 35 survive now.

The Eastern complex includes both Hindu and Jain temples. The largest Jain temple now houses an image of Parshvanath, but was originally dedicated to the first ‘tirthankara’, Adinath. Evening is free at leisure.

Day 13 – Khajuraho to Varanasi by flight: 

Enjoy a tranquil, rejuvenating morning after which, you leave for the airport to board the flight to Varanasi. Our representative will guide you to the hotel in Varanasi. An enjoyable Rickshaw ride would take you to the banks of the holy River Ganges from where you will witness the beautiful and captivating Aarti Ceremony late this afternoon.

Day 14 – Varanasi:

Experience the River Ganges in its pure form through a boat ride early in the morning flavored with walking tours of the temples around the ghats. Soon after, embark on an excursion to Sarnath (40 min drive) a major Buddhist pilgrimage center where Buddha preached his first sermon. Finally, conclude this remarkable day with a visit to the famous Weavers of Varanasi.

Day 15 – Varanasi – Delhi – Departure by flight:

The morning is free.  In time, check–out from the hotel and transfer to  Varanasi airport for your flight to Delhi. Arrival Delhi and connect to your onward International flight.
