Day 1 – Lima:
Upon arrival, on the first day of your trip to Peru, you will be welcomed by our personnel at Lima airport and transferred to the selected hotel. After check-in, you will have a briefing in which you will be handed your “Travel kit” which includes all your travel documents such as itinerary, flight, train and bus tickets, and hotel information.

Day 2 – Lima:
You will be picked up from your hotel to begin the visit to the colonial Lima, starting with the Cathedral, located in the Main Square; it is in the same place as the original building of 1555. Later, you will visit the Church of San Francisco, its convent, Art Museum, cloisters and catacombs. Afterwards, you will have a panoramic view of the Main Square with the Government Palace, the Municipal Hall, the “Desamparados” Train Station, before driving through the old streets, where you will have a spectacular view of traditional mansions and Moorish style balconies.
You will then continue through classic and modern Lima with a brief stop at the Love Park, where you will enjoy an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.Finally, you will visit Barranco, a former beach resort where Lima’s aristocracy gathered at the start of the 20th century. It is the main bohemian neighborhood in Lima, with cozy mansions and corners that offer musical and cultural shows, as well as clubs, pubs and cafes.

Day 3 – Lima – Cusco – Sacred Valley:
At coordinated time, you will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer from the airport to the hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On your way from Cusco to the Sacred Valley you will make a stop to visit Awanacancha. You will see Alpacas there, as well as other animals of the area. At this idyllic place you will also be explained the art of dyeing. The locals use various natural resources to give their textiles the typical, intense colors.
Note: On Sundays, we suggest replacing Awanacancha for a visit to Chinchero, a small traditional village located on the way from Urubamba to Cusco. In Chinchero you will visit the market and witness how locals still practice bartering for obtaining different produce.

Day 4 – Sacred Valley:
Today you will visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo and admire the distinct Inca urban planning, visit the religious, astronomical and military zones and observe how ancient Peruvians moved boulders of nearly 60 metric tons from one mountain to another and across the river and valley.
Later, you will continue towards the Archaeological Site of Moray, these unusual Inca constructions, mostly consisting of several enormous terraced circular depressions, have been built in such a way that the temperature difference from the highest and the lowest terrace can be of up to 10 °C. Moray seems to have been an Inca agricultural experiment station to adapt crops to different microclimates.
After stopping for lunch (picnic or local restaurant), you will move on to the Maras Salt Mines. These Salt Mines have been used since long before the Inca times. The extraction method employed involves using an ancient drying process, whereby saltwater, flowing from an underground stream, is left in thousands of wells until it has evaporated, leaving behind only the salt, which is then ready to be sold or exchanged for provisions.
Return to your hotel. Overnight in the Sacred Valley.

Day 5 – Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu:
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the train station to board the Train to Machu Picchu, a great World Heritage Site. This archaeological site was hidden for centuries, until it came to light during the early 1900s, by the famous discoverer Hiram Bingham.It is impossible to describe in words, how you will feel when faced with the citadel, a huge complex located between the mountains and the jungle and a wonderful challenge to your imagination.
Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes, reception at the train station and transfer uphill to Machu Picchu (approximately 20 minutes). On arrival to Machu Picchu, you will begin your tour of the Citadel where you will appreciate the history of this enigmatic and impressive place.
The citadel was built on a very special spot covered in vegetation between two mountains: the Machu Picchu (old mountain) and Huayna Picchu (young mountain), at the foot of which meanders the Urubamba or Vilcanota River (lower Jungle featuring abundant flora and fauna).
In the afternoon, you will return to Aguas Calientes to explore the village surroundings on your own or rest at your hotel.
Note: Your tour guide will return to Cusco in the afternoon. For next day, you have the option to revisit the site without a tour guide. If you wish to have another guided visit (2 hours), the extra fee is US$80 per person (group of 2), US$40 per person (group of 4), US$27 per person (group of 6) and US$20 per person (group of 8).

Day 6 – Machu Picchu – Cusco:
Morning is free for personal activities or enjoy the hotel’s facilities. In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the train station to board your return train to Cusco. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

Day 7 – Cusco:
At coordinated time, you will be picked up from your hotel to start the City Tour visiting Cusco’s Historical Inca and Spanish Colonial Monuments, such as the Main Square, known in Inca times as Huacaypata or the Warrior’s Square; it was the scene for many key events in Cusco’s history.
The Cathedral, originally built on the site of the old temple of Suntur Wasi (House of God), now the church of El Triunfo, the choir cloisters are a point of interest, as well as the pulpit, the engravings on the altar and furniture. Continue onto the Church and Convent of Santo Domingo, a Spanish construction belonging to the Dominican Order built upon the foundations of the Inca temple of Koricancha, also known as Temple of the Sun. Koricancha (in Quechua, site of gold), was the main religious building of the Incas dedicated to the worship of the Sun and whose walls, according to the chroniclers, were plated with sheets of gold. Magnificent blocks of finely carved stone were used in its construction.
Later, you will visit an artisan’s workshop in San Blas, the artists’ neighborhood in Cusco city. You will learn about the techniques local artisans have been passing from generations to generations and admire their workpieces.
Finally, you will visit the surrounding Sacsayhuaman, this huge Inca fortress is built on three overlapping platforms, each of them over 360 m long. Return to your hotel and rest of the day at your leisure.
